Contemporary danceis an artform that uses human movement as its palette. We train the dancer to move as a whole being with particular attention to skills that bring extra awareness to the torso, getting in and out of the floor, improvisation and encouraging a thinking dancer. Jane Pirani has developed techniques over the past 15 years to teach students from ages 7 and above how to prepare dancers bodies for whatever might arise in the creative space of making dance. The Australasian Dance Association (A.D.A.) based in Sydney has contracted Jane to create a new contemporary dance syllabus for the organisation, an honour she is proud and excited to deliver. The school currently delivers seven levels of contemporary dance plus contemporary for adults. Jane is passionate about the artform and along with her colleagues continues to formulate ideas for training dancers to be as adaptable as humanly possible
