OUR MISSION & GUIDING PRINCIPLES

At Ann Roberts School of Dance in Townsville, our mission transcends the mere teaching of steps; we aim to instil an enduring love and appreciation for the art of dance in all its diverse forms. Anchored in values of care, artistic expression, generosity and truth, we have created an environment where cultural awareness and community flourish.

Our guiding principles revolve around fostering appreciation and delight in dance, nurturing technical excellence, encouraging artistic growth and empowering self-confidence and discipline in our students. Whether through internationally recognised syllabi or the public performances we offer, our school is a sanctuary for nurturing talent and cultivating the artists and audiences of both today and tomorrow.

A choreographed legacy

Founded in 1957 by the extraordinary Miss Ann Roberts AO, the torch has now been passed to her daughter, Jane, and her husband, André Reynaud. This generational continuity ensures that while the school adapts to a changing world, it retains its core commitment to high-quality training in a nurturing and joyful environment.

Our alumni stand as a testament to this, having moved on to impactful careers in the dance world as esteemed choreographers, professional dancers and influential teachers. Their successes are not just their own, but a reflection of the nurturing and excellence that are the hallmarks of Ann Roberts School of Dance.

Come join us on this extraordinary journey where passion meets purpose, and where the transformative power of dance can shape futures in unimaginable ways.
