Melissa began dancing at the Ann Roberts School of Dance at the age of 6. She completed exams in Tap, Modern and Classical Ballet and completed her FATD Modern Teachers Exams in 1999. Melissa was a member of 'Extensions Youth Dance' Company from 1994- 1998 and travelled to various interstate dance festivals including the Aberdeen International Youth Festival in 1998 and 2015.

In the year 2000 Melissa began competitive Ballroom dancing and competed successfully in the amateur and professional field for 16 years. She currently owns Dancensations Ballroom studio, teaching competitive Dancesport and Wedding Dance Choreography. In 2009 Melissa became a member of ‘Ulysses Dancers’ and has performed and choreographed with the company for over 10 years. Melissa currently teaches Tiny Tots through to Advanced ballet and also the Silver Swans and Adult Dance Fitness classes. She has completed her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies through the Royal Academy of Dance. Outside of the dance world she enjoys spending time with her 2 border collies and getting out amongst nature and the outdoors.
